The shooting enclosure has a beautiful mural on the shooting wall, courtesy of Ms Taylor (Head of Visual Arts), Ms Myers and the Art Club boys from the School.
This term the Senior Art Club members have been working alongside the Football Club to produce a football inspired mural for the training wall in the Shooting Cage at the Lower Massie Field. Mr Denyer, Master in Charge of Football, on behalf of the Football Club began this process in Term 1.
He consulted with Ms Melanie Taylor and Ms Inari Myers, (Art Technician) to create an engaging design that would provide the boys with a fun and exciting place to train. The Club members were very excited to be a part of the process and also learnt a number of new artmaking skills.
The Football Club prepped the wall for the boys by painting it a sky blue. A number of the art club students, Angus Mansfield, Zane Gale, Roger Ge, Ross Collins, Omar Mirza and Vincent Wong then created the crowd and Ms Inari Myers, a professional graffiti artist, added the more complex figure and lights. A really wonderful team effort.
We are all very proud of the final result and hope that the boys enjoy using this wonderful facility even more now. A special thanks to the Football Club for sponsoring this highly rewarding activity.
